All Time Super League Dream Team: Kieran's Pick

Our Rugby League panel have each picked an all time Super League dream team, with a twist! Only 3 players could be chosen from each club - and they had to have played in the competition for at least 2 seasons.

Here's the 17 and Head Coach chosen by KIERAN MAKIN...

Full Back: PAUL WELLENS (St Helens)

Perhaps not as naturally gifted, quick or tricky as Sam Tomkins at Wigan, but did everything you want a full-back to do extremely well. He did of course win his fair share of trophies too.

Winger: LESLEY VAINIKOLO (Bradford Bulls)

His try scoring record speaks for itself. Absolute beast. Those 6 tries against Hull in 2005 show you everything you need to know about how insanely good he was.

Centre: LEON PRYCE (Bradford Bulls)

One of the most intelligent rugby league players ever, and had the ability to control a game wherever he was on the pitch - hence why he moved to 6. But as a Centre, he had the lot.

Centre: RYAN ATKINS (Warrington Wolves)

Strength and pace down that left edge. Scored roughly 1 try every 2 games, which is a record that speaks for itself. Should have won Super League with the Wire.

Winger: PAT RICHARDS (Wigan Warriors)

Another machine, who scored a hatful of tries. But he was also a crucial goal kicker, with the ability to kick goals from all angles. Had the rare skill of being excellent offensively and defensively under a high ball - at times unstoppable.

Stand Off: DANNY MCGUIRE (Leeds Rhinos)

The best support player in Super League history! His try scoring stats back that up as he is the all time record try scorer in the competition with 247. Literally won everything in that Leeds side.

Scrum Half : SEAN LONG (St Helens)

In my opinion, arguably the best half the competition has seen. Unreal at taking on the line and his left foot was a magic wand. Came up with so many magic moments for the Saints over the years.

Prop: STUART FIELDEN (Wigan Warriors)

Felt he didn’t get the credit he deserved. So good for a number of years particularly at Bradford before becoming an integral part of Michael Maguire’s Super League winning Wigan team.

Hooker: JAMES ROBY (St Helens)

Do I really need to explain this one? As I've said before on previous podcasts, for me he's the best 9 of the Super League era.

Prop: ADRIAN MORLEY (Warrington Wolves)

Man mountain who led from the front. Another who should have won Super League during his time with Warrington. Great spell at Leeds too, but at Warrington he was that sides leader and, despite being towards the end of his career, was still one of the best in his position.

Second Row: JAMIE PEACOCK (Bradford Bulls)

The best forward Super League has seen? His longevity was superb, playing at such a high level for such a long time, in two champion sides. What makes you stand out in this country, is if you play for Great Britain against the Aussies and they're genuinely scared of you. That was very much the case for Jamie Peacock.

Second Row: LIAM FARRELL (Wigan Warriors)

Mr Consistent and Mr Reliable. Solid performer week in week out for a number of years. Made trade mark late runs, and scored big tries just like that incredible late winner in the derby!

Loose Forward: KEVIN SINFIELD (Leeds Rhinos)

Great ball handler, great goal kicker, great bloke. Leader as well. The fact he still holds the all time Super League points record by some distance is proof of how brilliant he was as a player. He'd by my Captain for sure.

Interchange 1: ROB BURROW (Leeds Rhinos)

Simply special. Written off the second he touched a rugby ball, in reality, nobody could touch him. One of rugby league’s elite and a legend of the game.

Interchange 2: BEN WESTWOOD (Warrington Wolves)

Nightmare. Horrible to play against. But boy would he put his body of the line for the team. Very decent try scoring record as well.

Interchange 3: EORL CRABTREE (Huddersfield Giants)

This pick may well raise eyebrows but he made over 400 appearances for Huddersfield and was a steady performer. Good old fashioned prop and an absolute workhorse.

Interchange 4: LEE RADFORD (Hull FC)

Radford won accolades at Bradford and then would play anywhere in the pack for Hull. Hardman who lived and breathed the game

Head Coach: SHAUN WANE (Wigan Warriors)

Wane turned Wigan into a well oiled winning machine. Wasn’t pretty but it was efficient and effective. He won everything there was to win with the Warriors. I think he would get the best out of the pack I've picked as well.
